I know this weekend many of our Cllrs and members were out and about in their communities helping clear storm debris, making roads passable and checking in on neighbours, livestock and loved ones.

Thankfully supporting small business isn't for just one Saturday a year. We have a wealth of independent, SME's across the constituency they are often the heartbeat of our communities and economy from pubs and cafes to farm shops. and so much more. They create good local jobs and wealth in our economy. But they are under attack from the Labour Party.

Labour's changes announced in the budget will make it £900 more expensive to create jobs, their new labour laws will cost businesses £4.5 billion, and their increase in business taxes will mean less money to reinvest. Labour does not understand business.  Did you know only one member of Labours Cabinet has ever started and had experience of running one!

Businesses create jobs and wealth in our economy which grows our economy and funds our public services. Instead of stepping out of the way and letting businesses grow, Labour have decided to put the brakes on British enterprise.

Conservatives supported the creation of one million more businesses between 2010 and 2024 and launched the biggest tax cut for businesses in a generation. In 2010, there were 4.5 million businesses compared to 5.5 million today, an increase of over a fifth. We also launched the biggest tax cut for business in a generation equivalent to £9 billion by allowing businesses to offset investment against their tax bill
